How to clean a white or black sink – here’s how to do it!
At Caressi, it’s important to us that you are satisfied with the quality of your composite sinks from our Black Line or White Line series. That’s why we’re happy to share tips on how to clean your black or white sink properly, along with some useful maintenance advice.
Not only do our Black Line sinks stay beautiful with the right cleaning and maintenance, but the our White Line series benefits just as much. Both sinks are largely made from composite material and require the right care and attention. As a result, both black and white sinks can be cleaned and maintained in the same way. The cleaning tips in this blog therefore apply to both series.
Using the right products for your coloured composite sink
Because Caressi white and black sinks are made from composite, proper cleaning and maintenance are essential to keep them looking their best for years to come. In daily use, make sure you dry the sink with a soft cloth after use. This prevents water from sitting in the sink and makes cleaning easier. It also helps prevent excessive limescale build-up and staining.
Removing stubborn stains
Have stubborn stains appeared in your white or black sink? Our materials specialist recommends the following cleaning tips:
-
Stubborn stains are best cleaned using a mixture of vinegar and water. Mix vinegar and water in a 1:40 ratio and apply it to the sink surface.
-
Leave it to work for 20 minutes, then rinse with cold, clean water.
-
For stubborn food residues, baking soda or household soda works wonders.
-
Please note: we strongly advise against using harsh cleaning agents, citric acid, solvents or bleach-based cleaners.
Removing limescale
Limescale is mainly visible in black sinks. If limescale does appear, don’t worry – it can be removed easily:
-
Warm white vinegar and apply it to the affected area. Leave it to work for 20 minutes, rinse with water, and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
-
You can also use a limescale remover, such as the Caressi Descaler & Stain Remover, which is specially developed for cleaning black and white sinks.
-
Never use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the surface.
Daily cleaning tips
-
To prevent stubborn stains, daily cleaning with a soft cloth is usually enough. Do not use scouring pads.
-
We also recommend cleaning your sink daily with mild green soap.
-
Then dry the sink with a soft cloth.
Use and maintenance of white and black sinks
For everyday use of your sink, we have a few maintenance tips. Use heat-resistant mats to prevent hot pans from coming into direct contact with the sink. This helps avoid stains or discolouration caused by heat or boiling water.
Also make sure that no sharp objects fall into the sink, as these can cause damage. Avoid cutting food directly in the sink or on the worktop to prevent scratches or damage.
